Hello, readers! We've been sprucing up the shop this week to get ready for what we're just gonna go ahead and call Small Business Weekend! Read on for info on giveaways, our author event with Alex Willan, and everything else going on this weekend!
And don't forget: Hanukkah is early this year! We have so many adorable Hanukkah titles for kids of all ages, plus sticker books, coloring activities, and more.
Small Business Weekend: Fri - Sun!
OK, let's talk about shopping: Friday through Sunday, while supplies last, we'll have a free sticker with every purchase, plus giveaways when you spend $25, $50, $75, or $100. We've got fun stuff to share with you, so come in and check it out!
We're also proud to be partnering with the Mayor's Holiday Food, Book and Toy Drive for Evanston families. We've made room for a big donation bin in our little store, so please consider bringing new, unwrapped toys to donate when you stop by throughout the holiday season. We are also happy to offer a discount on any books your purchase to donate to the drive.
And of course, where would we be without our pals at the Main-Dempster Mile!? While supplies last on Small Business Saturday, they'll be giving out free holiday shopping bags and swag bags to shoppers who show $100 of MDM store receipts! Get more details on their website.

Gilbert the Goblin returns! This time he's ready for Christmas, and he is sure that "Elves Are The Worst!" Join author Alex Willan for story time, pick up a signed copy of all four of Alex's Gilbert books, take down your first candy cane of the year, and do a li'l elf craft, too!
And Now, Something New: Booked Registries!
We get asked a lot if we can make our own online book registries for birthdays, baby showers and holidays. We've been working behind the scenes to try to make this happen, and it's time for us to test it out with a few of you. If you're interested in making a Booked registry for your family this holiday season (or for any giftable moment between late December and the end of February), please shoot us an email at owners@bookedevanston.com. We'll pilot this program with the first three folks who reply!
