Come create your very own masterpiece while learning to paint with wool
We’ll start with needle-felting your background, building color and textures for your specific design, and then we’ll finish it off with a steam wet-felt before matting and framing your work
You bring an inspiration photo, your love of color, and a willingness to learn and create!
Students under the age of 12 are welcome to attend with a paying adult
Skill Level: No experience required - beginners welcome
No painting or felting experience needed
Students need to bring an inspiration photo, phone or tablet to view their photo and a multi-tool felting needle (available at Yarn & Honey)
Mats, and generic single needles will be provided to use in class and students will go home with a framed piece of art
Turkish/Drop Spindle
Saturday, January 17th 9:30am - 12:30pm
$65 includes supplies and spindle rental
Have you ever been intrigued by the Turkish spindle and wanted to know what the hype was all about?
Interested in learning to spin and heard a drop spindle might be the way to get started
In either case, I'll go over the basics of both, pros and cons of each, and get you started spinning!
We’ll cover a little bit of spindle history, why the Turkish spindle is so appealing, spinning and winding methods, and how to ply from your spindle created center-pull ball or lazy kate
Skill Level: No experience required - beginners welcome!
What Students Should Bring:
Students should come prepared to have fun and learn
Bring your own Turkish/Drop Spindle if you'd like, but it's not required
Materials include 2 ounces of spinning fiber, "plying cups," WPI tool, resource guide, and the use of a Turkish/Drop spindle
Students will have the option at the end of class to purchase the spindle used in class from Yarn & Honey
$5 of your class fee can be used toward the price of your spindle
