Jeremy Burke began his brewing career in beer brewing when he received a home brew kit as a wedding gift in 1995. Upon returning from his honeymoon he brewed his first batch. It was a rough start but fortunately there was a hobby store relatively close by and he was able to get additional ingredients and keep trying. It didn’t take long for the batches to improve and beers were turning out really well.
While spending years honing his skills as a home brewer, Jeremy served several years as an Infantry Officer in the US Army including an oversees deployment to Iraq where he earned a Combat Infantry Badge as well as received a Bronze Star for his efforts with the Iraqi Army. Upon return from Iraq, Jeremy worked full time in sales for 3M company managing an Industrial Products territory Jeremy worked for 3M company until leaving for the brewing industry.
In Oct 2014, Jeremy incorporated Tuned Up Brewing Co in Spring City, PA. The brewery opened it’s doors to the public on March 1st, 2016 and became a quick favorite of locals and people on brewery tours through the region. His focus was on a diverse menu of beer styles and live music.
After about 3 years in business Jeremy decided it was time to go in another direction and he parted ways with Tuned Up Brewing. And within a few weeks he was discovered by Steel City Coffee House & Brewery and asked to come on board and manage brewing operations.
His personal favorites in the world of craft beer are Belgian Ales and Barrel Aged beers and he hopes to bring some of those flavors to Steel City. His years of brewing experience have helped him appreciate a diverse flavor menu and he expects to bring ales from classic styles to wild experimentations.
