ComicsMongers Bulletin: September Updates N'More!

XTIAN HAS FOUND HOUSING!
After two years of searching for a place live I have finally got something figured out! October move in. I'M STAYING IN EASTHAMPTON and RUFUS IS OK TO COME WITH ME! I'm so relieved and I feel pretty optimistic about this! There's a lovely garden in the backyard where I can read with Rufus on nice days. It's only four blocks from the store! It's gunna be really great. It's a historically interesting time of year for these final pieces to fall into place for me. On September 9th, it'll be ten years since my poor ma passed; the day I became an orphan. If my ma hadn't passed there would be no Comics N'More in Easthampton and I wouldn't be ComixMonger. My ma died, I organized and ran her funeral, I filed her life insurance claim, and by October 31st 20214 we were preparing to open for our first day, November 1st. I'd like to go visit where I put her to rest in Long Island later this month, I haven't been back in five years. Last time I went with my beloved dog, Zeus, who passed two years ago. This time Rufus is co-pilot. Everything's so expensive. I need help with moving and travel costs. Anything helps and I am deeply grateful for any help. I know so many people struggling with money, housing and their health, right now. It's brutal out there these days. I wouldn't ask for this if it wasn't serious. LINK HERE:
XTIAN'S BIG MOVE
Oh yeah - or you can just buy a bunch of comics! Come see about us! Or order online! You could pick some titles from our Wishlist Matching book drive for Great Falls Books Through Bars and the retail value will be MATCHED in financial donation by a generous and anonymous donor! More information on this below!
9 years ago this week I moved in to the apartment I'm preparing to leave now. I'm really grateful for the patience and generosity of Andrea, my former mother in-law; and Phoebe of course. The last two years were so very very hard but they could have been so much worse. Now we're here on the other side of it. It's been quite the journey, and we all have so much more living to do.

Books listed are titles and subjects that are often requested but not always in stock, and purchasing them this way doubles the impact!
This time, we're also working with two other local bookstores: Comics N'More in Easthampton and Bookends in Florence! Each store will have some preselected books to choose from that will go directly to incarcerated folks!
All three shops are amazing local businesses, so feel free to pick up a few books for yourself as well while you're there 😀

Did you know we're also always accepting paperback soft cover books for Great Falls Books Through Bars? This month's theme is COMIC BOOKS! Here's what GFBTB posted: This month, we're seeking donations for comics, manga, and graphic novels for our incarcerated friends. Any books in used or better condition and in paperwork can be used. Due to prison restrictions, books should not contain any nudity or gruesome images. Books can be brought to our volunteer day on Saturday 9/14 or to any of our drop spots. They can also be brought to our home base at 104 4th St in Turners Falls every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 3-6 pm. If you're looking to purchase some for us, check out our favorite comic book shop and drop spot Comics N'More in Easthampton.
We can always take donations of other books, especially from our previous book drives: scifi, fantasy, fiction featuring queer men and Trans characters, conspiracy, trade skills, finance, thrillers, horror, wicca, and occult."
