Broom Making Workshop + Rising Thistle + Savage Knights

AND AWAY WE GO!
Halloween is the gateway to the rest of the holiday season, which can be so completely stressful! This year, we're striving for presence over presents.

There is so much pressure to make everything perfect. The stress can be overwhelming at times. We're here to tell you, no one is perfect! This is our mantra this season! The act of trying to reach that level of perfectionism that Instagram and TikTok shows us is pretty impossible for a majority of us and ends up making us feel like we can't do anything right, so this year, we have a game plan!

Number one on our list: taking time to relax and recharge.
It helps us to stay present in the moment and enjoy it. We're taking time for ourselves to enjoy our coffee, to marvel at the colorful leaves. That means, we're limiting over-commiting to everything. It's OK to say "no". It's OK to not want to go to every party. It's OK if it's too much. As the great Socrates once said, "You do you, boo."

Then, we're making a list, but we're making this list smaller, more actionable and manageable. We're setting a realistic budget for ourselves, and prioritizing quality over quantity. For us, that means focusing on items that are a prolonged source of pleasure and growth rather than a quick fix, like classes in sourdough making, print workshops from local artists, concerts, a trip to see a museum.

Any tips or tricks you have for enjoying the season? DM us!

And of course, we here at Rebus Works want to help keep things easy and uncomplicated for you. As you're picking up your coffee, we have tons of fun gifts, cards, foods, beers, mock spirits, and so much more. It's as easy as taking a quick glance around the shop while you're waiting for your coffee order.

GET CARVING THOSE PUMPKINS!
Get your pumpkins at Rebus while supporting local farmers! $10 for a beautiful pumpkin from Happy Dirt here in Durham.

WE'VE GOT CARDS
We're always on the lookout for a good card.

Sometimes we like to get a few at a time in case something pops up. So instead of saying "Oh no! I forgot their birthday!", then all you have to do is go to your card stash, and the day is saved!

Have you seen our card wall? We've got ones for every occasion. These cards are made by small printers and artists, so they all have great graphics. These are the cards that are saved while the other ones are tossed after the birthday. These cards range from the funny to the sentimental. These cards will be remembered! So check out some of these cards below...

BROOM MAKING WORKSHOP
