September News at Unleashed the Dog & Cat Store

We're gearing up for fall and looking forward to all the fun happenings at Unleashed this month!

If you love fall and pets, you will want to go ahead and mark your calendar for our our Fall Tea Paw-ty, complete with pet-friendly pumpkin spice lattes, games, a treat buffet, and more. Join us September 27th between 1- 4 pm for lots of fall fun, with or without your pooch! And don't miss the extra special deals happening that weekend! Our Fall Tea Paw-ty will round out a weekend of celebrating independent pet stores. While officially, "Neighborhood Pet Store Day," is Saturday, 9/26, we will be celebrating (and offering sales) all weekend long- Friday-Sunday!

September also brings lots of opportunities for you to fall in love with your new best friend at one of our many meet and greets with local animal rescues! Whether you're interested in adopting, fostering, or simply want to get your dog/cat cuddle fix, we would love for you to join us!

At our Landfall location (Wilmington,) this month is going to the Hounds. Hounds and friends are invited to join us for a trail explorer-themed hound meetup benefitting It Takes a Village Rescue on September 19th from 3-4:00 pm!

Over in Cary, we are excited to host a special book sale and signing with the local author of Hopey B and The Teepee Under the Stars, Aprile Milazzo, on September 19th from 12-3 pm.

In both Durham and N. Raleigh, we will be doing some stretching and snuggling! Independent Animal Rescue is joining us at Unleashed Parkway Plaza (Durham) for Kitty Yoga on Thursday, September 24th, from 6-8 pm. Plus, Blazin' Trails Bottle Babies is back at Unleashed Stonehenge (N. Raleigh) for their monthly Puppy Yoga on September 27th from 12-1 pm and 1:30- 2:30 pm. Looking further ahead, we have some scary good plans in the works. Get the ghouls together and join us for our Halloween Party for Pets on October 31st from 12-3 pm! Plus, save the date for our annual Pets-giving on 11/22 (1-4pm) & Small Business Saturday on 11/28!

Did you know that we are approaching our 20th Anniversary? It is hard for us to believe, but the math is there: Feb 2007 to Feb 2027 = 20 years! And since February will be here before we know it, we are already starting to brainstorm how to celebrate.

We wouldn't be here without our customers, so we thought it would be nice to kick off the brainstorming by hearing from you! What do you love about Unleashed? How has Unleashed impacted you and/or your pets?

Whether you have been shopping with Unleashed for almost 20 years, almost 20 minutes, or anywhere in-between, we would love for you to share with us!

Submit a video and share anything that you would like- memories, stories, testimonials, anything goes! Bonus if your pet(s) makes a debut in the video!!

We may use some of the videos stand-alone or some or all as part of a compilation. We aren't 100% sure yet, as it really depends on you!

Videos can be as long or as short as you like. Multiple submissions also welcome. Photos and slideshows also accepted. Seriously, anything goes! We can't wait to see what you come up with!

Celebrate Neighborhood Pet Store Day at your local, independent, neighborhood pet store- Unleashed, the Dog & Cat Store!

"Neighborhood Pet Store Day" was created to celebrate independent pet stores, and we are excited to join the fun by offering you a whole bunch of deals! The official day is Saturday, September 26, but we will have specials all weekend long!

We have been working behind the scenes on a new website, and it is almost ready to launch! We are thrilled to offer a modernized site with the same useful information but new added features too!

Look forward to these new features:

🛒Upgraded, modernized online store featuring:

-Buy online & pick up in store - shop our entire real-time inventory at any store location

-Greatly expanded shipping options - shop a much expanded list of our real-time inventory- there will still be some shipping limitations (i.e. raw)

📅More streamlined booking for one-on-one consultations, private shopping experiences, & dog washes

❓Maybe local delivery? (But only if you promise to still come see us in person and still bring the dogs!!)

We are excited about expanding our online store for all of our out-of-town friends, but we have to admit, we really don't want to miss out on seeing local dogs and people each day, which is still the heart of what we do! We love being part of our customer's lives, solving problems, helping pick out the just-right-products, and developing meaningful relationships with our customers. Please still come see us even once the web store is operating smoothly!

The new website will probably launch sooner, but will definitely be up and running by Neighborhood Pet Store Day, so that even if you no longer live in our Neighborhood, you can still shop our deals!!

Haul your hound to Unleashed at Landfall for a party just about them! Our trail explorer-themed hound meetup is coming up on September 19th from 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Stop by for a treat buffet, playtime, games, and raffle!

Here's a couple things we have planned to start those tails wagging:

Each ticket is a donation which supports Blazin' Trails Bottle Babies rescue puppies and the care they need to grow strong.
