That Dirty Dog - Re-Opening Plan

Can't wait to see you!
Dear That Dirty Dog community,

I hope this message finds everyone healthy and doing well.

Yesterday Governor Baker announced that pet grooming businesses can re-open starting May 25, 2020, for Full-service Grooming ONLY. Unfortunately our self-service dog wash is not included in Phase 1 so I will provide another update when it can re-open.

The state has several new requirements for pet groomers, which I detailed below.  We ask for your continued patience and support as these new requirements will make our restart a methodical and slower than normal process. We understand you are anxious to get your pet feeling and looking as good as they can again and we will do our absolute best to work through all of the  appointments as quickly as possible.  However, it will take some time as there is a lot of pent up demand, and our first priority is always safety for you, your pets and our employees.  We ask that you hang in there with us as we adjust to our new ways of working.

Setting Appointments:
Because there are many new requirements, we will be scheduling appointments for the first week only so we can work out all the kinks.  Once we know we can successfully do all that is required with the same number of dogs we had done before, we will then schedule all other appointments.

1. Appointments previously scheduled and were cancelled due to state order will be rescheduled first.

2. Followed by all NEW appointments requested via all forms of communication.

3. If you still need to make an appointment, please leave your name, number, dog name, dog breed and size on our voicemail at (978) 248-8300

*Governor Baker’s office DID NOT re-open child care services at the same time as pet grooming, therefore our senior pet stylist, Marilyn, has limited childcare support.  She will be working on a limited schedule at first until alternative childcare support is available.

New State requirements for ALL appointments:

1. All services are by appointment only and there are NO walk-in services until further notice. We will contact you to set your pet’s appointment date and time.  The drop off times are set in 15-minute increments and it is important you arrive on time.

2. All drop off and pick up of your pets is done via CURBSIDE ONLY. The first spot directly in front of our back entrance is designated for That Dirty Dog customers only (a cone will be there).  Upon arrival, text or call (978) 248-8300 so we can retrieve your pet.

3. Face coverings must be worn if social distancing of at least 6 feet is not possible especially at the time of pick up and drop off.

4. At the time of the appointment being set and prior to accepting a pet, you will be asked if anyone in the house has COVID-19. Grooming cannot be allowed if someone in the household is confirmed to have or suspected of having COVID-19.

5. We will use our own slip lead to bring your pet into the store, therefore you will need to remove your pet's collar (incl the tick/flea collar) and its leash.

6. All grooming consultations will occur via phone. Please take into consideration there is a possibility your pet may need to get a shorter cut than its last groom, which will be completely dependent on the pet's fur/hair condition.  This will be discussed during the consultation.

7. Once your pet's groom is finished, we will contact you . You will need to pick them up within 30 minutes of that call.  Upon arrival, text or call (978) 248-8300 and park in the designated That Dirty Dog parking spot.  Please note we will be working as expedient as possible, but some grooming appointment could take longer due to more effort required.

8. All forms of payment accepted.  Cash payments need to be exact change.

I will be in touch with you as soon as I have a date when we can schedule your pet's appointment.

Thank you so much for sticking with us.

Kind regards,
Cheryl
