Ambient Thursday + Vinyl Night + Special Music Night


DANCE THE WEEK OFF WITH SOME MUSIC
We're big believers in dance parties. There's nothing like blaring some music and dancing out the stresses of life. Not only is it fun to pretend like we're backing up Beyonce with our sweet moves, but it also releases some much needed endorphins.

That's why we love our music nights. Not only does it give us a chance to hear some music we might not have heard before, but it starts our toes tapping and makes us want to get up out of our chairs and bust some moves! 

This week, we've got some great music happening. Ambient, Power Pop, and  Electronic. Such different genres, but all so much fun. We hope you stop by and dance with us!

AMBIENT THURSDAY
with Triangle Synth Party
This month will be a special Ambient Thursday!

Local synth nerds Jil Christensen (Chapel Hill), Howard Moscovitz (Durham), and Doug Llewellyn (Raleigh) will be performing as Waste, Fraud, & Abuse.

The show will performed as a modified version of the Exquisite Corpse model (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exquisite_corpse). The first person starts playing. After a while, the second performer joins in. After playing together for a bit, the first performer drops out. The second person continues, eventually being joined by the third person. The cycle continues as the second performer drops out after a bit. The third performer plays solo, eventually being joined by the first two performer. All three then perform a short set together.

VINYL NIGHT
with Super Stuff Records
Get ready to have some snappy hooks stuck in your head for a few days, as Russell from Super Stuff Records will be playing POWER POP this Friday.

Power pop is characterized by catchy, melodic rock music with strong pop hooks and guitar-driven instrumentation. Think Cheap Trick, The Cars, Big Star, Badfinger, The Knack, and The Romantics.

Come on out and hear something new, or re-listen to some of your favorites!

CHIMEHOUR + PAMLICO
Electronic
We have two amazing artists playing with us this Saturday: Chimehour and Pamlico! These atmospheric artists will be creating sound waves that will glide you into your Saturday night on a musical cloud.

Chimehour is a dj and hardware electronic artist whose sets draw from elements of techno, ambient, drone, and poetry.

Pamlico creates electronic music, Glitch, IDM, and blissful sonic serenity.

LEGALLY ADDICTIVE SNACKS

Located in Asheville, NC, Legally Addictive was founded by Laura Shafferman after being laid-off suddenly from her real estate marketing job in NYC. 

Looking for a way to work without breaking her non-compete clause, she made her favorite childhood cookies for a holiday market. After selling out in only a few hours, she knew they were a hit and a new business was born! She spent the next year learning the food business at night and during the day, worked as an in-house caterer. Eleven months later, a few stores in New York City agreed to carry Legally Addictive, including the flagship location of Dylan’s Candy Bar. At the time, Laura was making the cookies in the off-hours of a bakery in Brooklyn, often until well past midnight, and then delivering them on the subway and on foot.

Fast forward to six years later and Legally Addictive has now built its own production kitchen in Asheville, NC, has a team of 12 and is carried in over 2000 retailers and hotels in North America.
